About The Joy Now Project
Drums roll, flags wave, a stilt walker hula hoops while horns bellow the sounds of New Orleans. It's part marching band, part circus and a whole lot of fun! Members of Portland’s internationally-acclaimed MarchFourth inspire the next generation through youth programs that ignite creative passion and empower youth to rock out on stage and in life. Students play music, make costumes, dance, walk on stilts, tumble, sing, juggle, perform at exciting public venues, and learn how to use art as a tool for self-expression and action. Joy Now offers week-long Summer Camps, workshops and year round classes for ages 5-18.
MarchFourth is a FORCE of entertainment -- a sonic and visual explosion of musicians, dancers and artisans who take audiences on a joy-inducing, foot-stomping, booty-shaking, soul-stirring journey that defies categorization. With exceptional musical quality and a visual kaleidoscope of stilters and dancers, MarchFourth whips up a celebratory frenzy with their over-the-top spectacle of high-energy compositions, colorful costumes, stage shenanigans, and irresistible charisma. This is not a band that simply puts on a show; it is an experience to be remembered. “From the first note to the last, the sound was pumping and the fun never stopped.” - USA Today
